Publication Ethics

Ethical Policies & Procedure:
Update publishing should ‎be followed by authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial board of journals published, as well as standards of expected ethical behavior in JMS. At Update Publishing, the pre and post-publication of research articles are committed to meeting ‎high quality and standards.

Authorship Criteria:
In a published paper, the study and preparation of the manuscript should be based on substantial contribution in ‎conducting for the credit for authorship. Co-Supervisor or Co-PI in a project in PhD or a ‎Masterwork is inadequate to appeal authorship. The research should be based ‎on the relative contribution of the author's order of the article. To make it clear, the co-authors' Contributions at the end of the article and the Reference Section demand a written ‎statement for Update Publishing. All co-authors of the ‎study should give permission for the corresponding author before ‎submitting to the journal.

Initial Screening:
The editorial staff will screen the article for format, journal scope, ‎originality, and potential impact. Upon receipt of an article, the article will be returned to the author for correcting the format. If the standard format of Update Publishing is not up to par in the article, then External Peer Review will be assigned it.

External Peer review:
The author can offer at least 3 reviewers during submission who can estimate the manuscript. Collaborators or previous co-authors of any of the submitting authors should not be ‎as reviewers. They ‎should be from at least another institution or another country with the institution's email address. ‎the suggested reviewers may or may not contact by the editors.

Ethical Expectations:
The purpose of the article and the rationale for the study should be summarized. It should neither review the subject broadly nor have conclusions or data from the study.

Authors Responsibiltes:  
Authors play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of their academic papers. It is their responsibility to ensure that their submission is original and creative, and that it does not contain any plagiarized material. As such, authors must abide by the updated publishing policy on plagiarism. Additionally, before submitting a paper, authors must obtain permission from all co-authors to ensure that everyone is aware and approves of the submission. It is also important to note that the submitted paper should not be under consideration in any other journal, and all previously published sources should be recognized and correctly cited. In cases where figures, data, or tables have been previously published, an agreement letter is required from the previous authors or publishers. Furthermore, the raw data of the study should be retained by the authors in case any queries arise, and the corresponding author should be accountable for providing details. Any grant sources used in the study should also be approved. If needed, authors should seek ethical support from concerned authorities to ensure that their studies are conducted ethically and responsibly. Finally, authors should assert any possible conflicts of interest to maintain transparency and credibility in their submissions.

REVIEWERS RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviewers play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of academic papers. It is their responsibility to evaluate the manuscript based on its scientific value in an objective and balanced manner. Reviewers should focus on the novelty and creativity of the work and estimate its potential impact on readers. They should also evaluate the suitability of the methodology described, the study plan, and other technical aspects of the paper. Additionally, reviewers need to complete the review procedure in a timely manner. The information related to the article under review should be kept confidential, and reviewers should not retain or copy the manuscript. If there are any potential conflicts of interest, reviewers should communicate this to the editor. Finally, the review procedure should be based on equality policy in terms of intellectual and scientific content, regardless of the author(s)’ gender, religion, ethnicity, race, citizenship, or political principles. By adhering to these guidelines, reviewers can ensure that academic papers are evaluated fairly and objectively, contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
